The council announced yesterday that a new road in Blackburn will be named in honour of the Issa brothers.
The multi-million pound highway connects Blackamoor Road to Roman Road, opening up land around Fishmoor Reservoir for housing and other development.
Some readers are elated by the news however others have said that some well-known Blackburn names have been forgotten.
Ibby Mahmood said: “Alan Shearer Way, Carl Fogarty Way. What's wrong with Issa Way?
“Well done Issa brothers!”
Cam Pickering is also happy about the news. She wrote: “Good luck to them, they've brought a lot to the area.”

Ayub Patel said: “Fully deserved and an absolute credit to the town of Blackburn.
“Stayed loyal to the town when many in their position I am sure would have re-located to pastures new and infinitely more luxurious and wealthy.
“Brought a tremendous amount of positive publicity to Blackburn and provided numerous employment opportunities.
“The Issa brothers without doubt should be celebrated as famous sons of Blackburn and this is in my opinion a recognition of this.”
However, Craig Barnes commented: “Yet the guy who founded Tommy Ball's shoes never got the same recognition.”
While kathwalker53 said: “The Issa brothers have done well, however there are plenty of famous people from Blackburn whose name could have been chosen!
“Seems some of the well-known Blackburn people have sadly been forgotten.”
The brothers who own Asda and the EG Group are the latest borough local heroes to get a major highway named after them by Blackburn with Darwen Council.
They follow Blackburn Rovers footballer Alan Shearer, world superbike champion and ‘King of the Jungle’ Carl Fogarty and Lake District fell-walking author Alfred Wainwright.
They said they were ‘extremely honoured and humbled’ by the decision.
