Four people have been arrested on burglary, drugs and driving offences following an ongoing police operation.

Officers in Fleetwood have been patrolling in the town due to recent incidents of anti-social beahviour and disorder, with several section 60 stop and search orders authorised over the last two weeks.

Overnight on Wednesday, officers, including police from the mounted and Tac Ops branches made several arrests.

A spokesperson for the police said: "As a direct result of the operation, we've arrested two people on suspicion of burglary, one person on suspicion of drug offences and one person on suspicion of disqualified driving and other motoring offences.

"An uninsured vehicle was seized and we also recovered a knuckleduster.

"We'd like to thank the residents of Fleetwood for their ongoing support whilst we continue to take action against a small, mindless group of individuals looking to commit serious crime."

Police say the operation will continue over the coming weeks and want residents to feel reassured and not duly concerned by the increased police presence.
