A man was stabbed in the bum with a knife as five men in balaclavas stole his electric scooter and robbed him of cash.
Police are now appealing for information following the attack, which happened at around 10.30pm on September 28.
The victim, who is in his 40s, was travelling on his electric scooter along the lines of a disused railway track close to the path to Brookfield Park and Fairfax Road in Preston.
He was approached by a group of five men, who kicked him off the scooter and slashed him on the buttock with a blade, before stealing his scooter and an amount of cash.
The five men are described as being in their 20s and dressed all in black wearing black balaclavas.
A spokesperson for the police said: "We are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the group around the time of the incident or has any information to get in touch."
