SEVERAL areas in East Lancashire have recorded an increase in coronavirus cases.
In the seven days to September 27, seven areas in Blackburn with Darwen recorded an increase in their infection rates.
Among them were Roe Lee, Brownhill and Sunnybower; North Darwen; Ewood and Fernhurst.
The area with the highest increase was Audley, where 25 new cases over the seven-day period meant the infection rate there increased by 127 per cent.
Other areas in the east of the county have also seen a spike, including Whalley and Brockhall, which now has an infection rate of 400.6 cases per 100,000 people. This was after 37 new cases were recorded.
The overall infection rate in Blackburn with Darwen is 228.6 cases per 100,000 people.
