A BACK seat passenger will have to pay more than £300 after he failed to wear his seatbelt.
Intiaz Jalal of Preston New Road, Blackburn, was dealt with after he was seen travelling in a Toyota on February 26 without a seatbelt on.
Jalal was proven guilty of the offence in his absence at Preston Magistrates Court.
Last week magistrates decided that the 38-year-old will now have to pay a fine of £220, a victim surcharge fee of £34 and £90 in court costs.
He has until October 10 to pay the fine and costs.
You can be fined up to £500 if you don’t wear a seat belt when you’re supposed to.
