Drivers are being asked to slow down on the motorways during wet weather after a vehicle lost control on the M6 and crashed into the central reservation.
On Wednesday morning, police and emergency services were called to the M6 southbound between junctions 33 and 32, just after Forton services.
It was reported that a car had lost control in the heavy rain and smashed into the central reservation, causing damage to the front end of the vehicle.
A lane closure was put in place so highways and the police could deal with the incident.
Thankfully the driver of the vehicle was not seriously injured.
A spokesperson for the road police said: "M6 south J33-J32 just after Lancaster services (Forton) Highways North West are assisting MN31 with a vehicle that lost control in heavy rain, fortunately no injuries.
"Currently a lane three closure on approach.
"PLEASE SLOW DOWN."
