BLACKBURN’S Strictly Come Dancing contestant says she is struggling with this week’s dance after coming top of the leader board on Saturday’s live show.

AJ Odudu revealed that she is having trouble learning this week’s Foxtrot and said it is a completely different dance to last weekend’s Jive.

The Foxtrot is a smooth and progressive dance filled with turns and laguid movements – a far cry from the energetic and fast-kicking dance we saw from AJ and her partner last week.

In an Instagram post, the television presenter wrote: “New week so a new, HUGE challenge of learning the Foxtrot.

“Currently, learning how to dance feels like I'm trying to talk in a foreign language and I can only speak Northern!”

“Can't wait to become fluent in the language of Foxtrot. Class starts now.”

In another Instagram video, AJ posted a video of herself “struggling” to spin around for a magazine shoot.

She wrote: “Press play for footage of me struggling to spin around on the spot for a shoot a couple of weeks ago.

“Guess what's part of my Foxtrot routine this week? SPINNING AROUND!

“Struggling big time but we'll get there... right Kai?.

“The hard work continues in T-Ten”

AJ and her dance partner, Kai, appeared on Strictly Come Dancing it Takes Two on Monday (27 September) to discuss how they are finding this week’s dance.

Host and former Strictly dancer, Jeanette Manrara, asked the couple about the pressure of being at the top of the leader book.

AJ said: “I’m not seeing it as pressure in the sense that every single week is a new dance.

“I loved the Jive it was amazing and the best way to start my BBC Strictly experience.

But it is a new week, new dance, new challenge and I am back to square one.”

When asked how the dance is going and AJ shot a worried look at the camera.

Kai: “One of my favourites but it is also one of the hardest dances out there.

“There are technical elements plus the frame to consider.”

Watch AJ's Foxtrot on Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One this Saturday at 7pm.
