The M65 eastbound was closed following a collision in the early hours of this morning.
The motorway was shut from Junction 10 (Burnley and Padiham) to Junction 12 (Nelson and Brierfield).
Highways Northwest said: “The vehicle involved has overturned and come to rest on its roof.
“Traffic is being diverted locally.”
Man in his twenties sadly dies after incident on M65
At drivers headed out to work early this morning the motorway was still closed.
Drivers had been urged to find alternative routes when travelling or follow diversions.
There were long queues on approach and on diversions.
The crash involved a white Audi which had overturned on the hard shoulder and police and emergency services were still at the scene this morning.
The motorway was reopened at around 1.00pm.
