Young offenders in Lancashire are now being dealt with quicker than ever, according to latest figures.
A new report from Lancashire police shows that after being arrested it took an average of 51 days to bring young offenders to justice.
Comparing the figure to the national average of 62 days, it highlights Lancashire's commitment to dealing with juvenile crime.
These impressive results are due to the fact that criminal justice agencies within Lancashire are working together to improve efficiency.
The Crown Prosecution Service, the courts and the youth offending teams in the county together with the police are very active in unblocking all the potential delays to the justice process, and this shows in the Constabulary's current performance.
Inspector John Clucas said "We are pleased that we continue to perform well above the national average but also that we are now becoming very consistent at doing this.
"Dealing with young offenders quickly and especially that small number who are persistent, can only increase the satisfaction of victims and also the confidence that communities have in the criminal justice system."
