A man had a full can of lager thrown at him while he was sat minding his own business and reading his newspaper.

The man was in the waiting room at Lancaster train station on Sunday when he was assaulted by a stranger.

British Transport Police officers say the man was engrossed in his Sunday paper when another man entered the waiting room and launched an almost full can of lager at him, which hit him in the shoulder.

Officers are now reviewing CCTV and making further enquiries.

A spokesperson for the BTP said: "A gentleman who was sat in the waiting room at Lancaster Station, minding his own business and engrossed in his newspaper, was assaulted by a stranger.
