A DRUNKEN dog walker who staggered upon a seri-ous police incident refused to go home a different way and was arrested.
Burnley magistrates heard how Carl Watson, 35, who was so intoxicated he did not even remember being out, or having the dog with him, tried to push past officers who were dealing with a knifeman in Piccadilly Road.
Watson, flouting a curfew at the time by being out, said he was going to do what he wanted, became aggressive and started waving his arms about. At the police station, he was found to have cannabis on him.
The defendant, of Sefton Terrace, Burnley, admitted being drunk and disorderly and possessing cannabis.
He was fined £200, with £50 costs by the bench.
Andrew Robinson, prosecuting, told the court that police attended Piccadilly Road at 10.30pm, where part of a television set was in the street with other debris.
A man was in an upstairs window, it was smashed and he was hold-ing a knife. Officers were in full protective gear and nobody was allowed in the area.
Watson appeared with a dog, was told to move away and refused.
