A 19-year-old motorcyclist has died after crashing with a tractor.
Police were called around 9.10pm on Monday to the incident on Preston Road in Grimsargh.
A teenager riding a Honda motorbike towards Longridge had been involved in a crash with a tractor close to the junction with Back Lane.
Sadly, the motorcylist, from Preston, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor, a 16-year-old boy from Preston, was not injured.
The road was closed for around seven hours before being re-opened early this morning.
An investigation is now under way and police are appealing for information and urging any witnesses to come forward.
Sgt Marc Glass, of Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations, said: “We were called around 9.10pm yesterday following a report of a collision in Preston Road, Grimsargh.
"A motorcyclist had been involved in a collision with a tractor close to the junction with Alston Lane.
"Sadly the motorcyclist, a 19-year-old man from Preston, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
"These are very sad and tragic circumstances and my thoughts are with the man’s family at this difficult time.
“An investigation is underway into the circumstances around the collision and we would encourage any witnesses to come forward.
