PENDLE residents are being asked to volunteer to help carry out work to improve a Colne park.
The borough council has organised a volunteer day with the help of Friends of Alkincoats Park.
Helping hands are needed to improve access to the woodland and lay woodchip on top of the path at Alkincoats Park.
Coun Ann Kerrigan, parks and recreation representative, said: "This is a great opportunity for people to get out in the fresh air, get their hands dirty and get some exercise while meeting new people at the same time.
"It is an ideal way for local people to care for their park."
Parks events officer Rachael Reynolds said: "We hope by getting people involved, they will reap the rewards and get some satisfaction out of their efforts."
Anyone interested in helping out should meet the council's park keepers in the woodland area anytime after 10am.
The event will finish no later than 3pm, depending on how fast the work is carried out.
