More roadworks are set for a major route through Blackburn from next week.
On Monday September 6, Blackburn with Darwen Council will place restrictions on traffic travelling on Roman Road.
The roadworks will be sited between the Stopes Brow/Blackamoor junction, and Newfield Drive while resurfacing of the carriageway takes place.
This is to prepare for the completion of the link road and widening of Roman Road.
A spokesperson from the council's roads department said: "From Monday September 6, traffic will be restricted on Roman Road, Blackburn between the Stopes Brow/Blackamoor junction and Newfield Drive.
"Those travelling north towards Blackburn town centre will be unaffected, however, those travelling south towards Darwen will need to go via Haslingden Road or Old Bank Lane to Blackamoor Road to continue their onward journey.
"This is to allow carriageway regulating and resurfacing works to be completed ahead of the final completion of the link road and associated widening of Roman Road."
There are currently also five sets of temporary traffic lights on Preston New Road between Samlesbury and Blackburn, which have been causing tailbacks this week, and a diversion was recently put in place close to the Brownhill junction at Ramsgreave/Yew Tree Drive.
The works are expected to be completed by September 17.
