A DRIVER attempted to ram a police vehicle several times while on a chase.
Police were patrolling near Worsthorne on Wednesday evening when they came across a Citroen which failed to stop.
The driver then sped off and tried to ram into a police vehicle a several times.
The vehicle was stolen and on false plates and was found abandoned by officers. The identity of the driver is still unknown.
A spokesperson for the police said: “The vehicle failed to stop for officers and was pursued into the Burnley area where it attempted to ram a police vehicle several times.
“The vehicle which was identified as recently being stolen from the Burnley area and was using false registration plates was eventually abandoned nearby before being located by officers.
“Enquires are ongoing to ascertain the identity of the driver.”
