Blackburn has been celebrated for its ‘entrepreneurial spirt’ and described as a great place to live according to a destination website.

Destination Scanner also speaks of King George’s Hall attracting some of the biggest names in pop and the town is seen to have an ‘outstanding road network’. It is also seen as an excellent place to retire and has wonderful open spaces.

The town is also known for it’s ‘excellent hospitality’ and you will expect to find ‘smiling faces wherever you choose to live’.

The website encourages people to move to the area for its ‘low house prices’ and new and modern housing structures.

Destination Scanner is the first port of call for anyone wanting to know more about Lancashire towns on Google.

Here's what the website says about Blackburn

The website says: “Blackburn is renowned for its entrepreneurial spirit. For many years, it was the centre of textile manufacturing in the UK. There are families with links to and a rich heritage in the fashion sector. In terms of fashion, the residents here have made a considerable effort. If you are moving to the UK soon, this is a city worth considering.”

Blackburn’s “road network is outstanding and its countryside is quite beautiful. It has taken three decades but it feels like this it is the start of a new era.”

It talks of the town suffering when it lost the textile industry, “Things were quite bad back then and everything almost shut down. It was so bad that even bed space was hard to find. However, the town manged to resurge and become one of the best places to live in the UK.”

The website talks of a ‘superb nightlife’ but may have mistaken it for nearby Darwen.

There is praise for Blackburn being named in the same league as Guildford and Gloucester in a 2018 jobs report. And how the town has high ‘employee satisfaction’ and ‘low mortgage rates’.

Is Burnley a good place to live?

According to the website Burnley 'Is not the cheapest town to live in England, but it’s very affordable for local commuters. Its development started back in the early medieval period as a small settlement surrounded by royal forests, and it has held a market for 700 years since then.

Burnley has ‘breath taking Pennine countryside’ and is a’ thriving market town’. It offers ‘high employment in health and manufacturing sector and good quality of life’.

The only flaw is that it has above average crime rate – that being said ‘many residents I came across found the place quite safe and were ready to operate their businesses till late.’

Some good neighbourhoods are Worsthorne, Cliviger and Harle Syke. The website says, “You should note that the rest of the good neighbourhoods are next to the bad ones’.

When it comes to work the city offers ‘quite a good deal for potential employees’. It adds, “the pay rates might not be as high as you would wish but most of the companies pay enough to afford you a comfortable standard of living.’.

There is also praise that the traffic levels are low and how Burnley is one of the ‘best residential towns for retirees’. It provides some healthy activities to keep you engaged and flexible.

The town is also described as having some of the most ‘beautiful locations that you can visit and historical landmarks that are quite astonishing.’

All in all, if you are ‘planning to moving to the UK, Burnley is worth considering’.
