SUMMER is nearly over and many people have been left disappointed with the weather this August.
Cloudy skies and wet weather has dominated the forecast this August and July’s heatwave feels like years ago.
Forecasters at NetWeather recently predicted that some parts of the UK could reach 27°C this coming month - but has the forecast changed and will Lancashire be so lucky?
Here is the current Met Office forecast for September:
The long range forecast for the UK seems to dash any hopes we may have of another heatwave as the weather is set to be wet and unsettled in the coming weeks.
The start of September is predicted to be mixed with rain and strong winds forecase.
The MetOffice said: “Showers or longer spells of rain, together with strong winds, may affect north-western areas, with these conditions spreading southeast to other parts of the UK at times.
“Temperatures are expected to be near average, perhaps warmer in the south and east.”
While winds are expected to be light at the start of the month they are expected to pick up as time goes on.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “Winds likely to be light at the start of the period before perhaps increasing through the week, particularly if the unsettled weather arrives from the west.
“Temperatures most likely remaining close to, or above average, with warm spells likely at times.”
In Blackburn specifically, the weather for the next seven days seems cloudy and unsettled.
