The August bank holiday is fast approaching and many of us will be planning outdoor events and barbeques for our extra day off.
However, the turbulent British weather could put an end to our plans so make sure to check it before making any final bookings.
Here is the Met Office weather forecast for Blackburn with Darwen this weekend:

On the whole, the weather is looking dry across Lancashire and the North West as a whole.
Sunny spells and warm temperatures are forecast – but one day stands out from the rest when it comes to sunshine.
FRIDAY
Friday looks set to be mainly cloudy with the occasional sunny spell.
However, things look set to brighten up in the evening with sunshine forecast at 7pm.
Highs of 19°C and lows of 9°C are predicted.
There is a 10 per cent chance of rain in the morning with less than a 5 per cent chance towards the latter part of the day.
SATURDAY
On Saturday there is less than a five per cent chance of rain.
Cloudy skies with sunny spells are on the cards and it’s expected to feel mild with highs of 20°C.
SUNDAY
This is meant to be the warmest day of the bank holiday with highs of 21°C and lows of 10°C.
It’s predicted to be mainly sunny with some cloud coverage between 1-4 pm.
There is less than a five per cent chance of rain.
MONDAY
Sunny spells and cloud coverage are in the forecast for bank holiday Monday.
However, locals might be luck enough to evade the rain as there is less than a five per cent chance of it all day.
At 20°C, it will be slightly chillier than Sunday.
