If you have visited Blackburn town centre this week you might have noticed that it is looking a little more prehistoric than usual.

Fifteen amazing brick model dinosaurs are hiding in businesses around the centre just waiting for visitors to find them.

The brightly coloured models will be in situ until Wednesday 1 September but visitors are already loving them and sharing pictures to social media.

People across the North West have been flocking to see the trail for themselves and shoppers have been sharing their snaps on social media.

Zack Kerr wrote: “I saw Lego dinosaurs around Blackburn today”.

North West parenting blogger, @raimy_rawr, also paid a visit with her child.

She wrote:  “Me and my girl had the best time at the #brickburn event today! The #brickosaurs were amazing to see and @blackburn_bid have done a great job of creating a fun trail to follow!

“It’s in town until 1st September, make sure you go check it out if you have a dinosaur mad kid like me… I mean mine.”

Blackburn councillor, Derek Hardman, also set out to prove that the dinosaur trail is for big kids too.

He posed with Patrick the Parasauolophus and an explorer at Blackburn Cathedral at the event launch.

Catherine Price, Blackburn town centre BID Manager, said: “It’s fantastic to be able to organise events again after 18 months or so of not being able to do so.

”We have had incredible feedback from families so far about the trail and we are so excited to have this unique collection of bright and colourful Brickosaurs sculptures here in Blackburn.”

The free trail, funded by Blackburn BID, offers a fantastic interactive family-friendly day out in a Covid-safe environment.

Catherine added: “The brightly coloured dinosaur models look spectacular in our town centre businesses and locations. It’s great to see visitors’ faces when they’re faced with these Jurassic beasts as they’re paying at the tills or spot them towering over tables.”

Highlights include Vigo the Velociraptor measuring a whopping 2m tall and Patrick the Parasaurolophus measuring more than 3m in length, made of more than 113,600 bricks!
