A group of amateur strongmen and women, who use lifting as a way to look after their mental health, are hosting a Strongman competition over the bank holiday weekend.
Sons of Anxiety, led by Rolonde Bradshaw and Dan Fish, host regular Strongman events that bring people together to connect through competition, and raise much needed funds for mental health charities.
And after acquiring their own gym, The Unit - Sons of Anxiety Strength Club, behind Myerscough Vets in Clitheroe, the group are holding another fundraising event, Ultimate Unit, on Sunday August 29, to raise money for the Samaritans.
Mr Fish said: "After the success of our last events, Absolute Savage which we held in Clitheroe, and the Strongman event at the Prairie in Burnley back in 2019, we're running another strongman competition on Sunday and this time we're raising money for the Samaritans, because many of those close to us are affected by suicide.
"We've now got our own gym too - The Unit, behind Myerscough Vets on Princess Ave in Clitheroe - and this is where the event will be held.
"We've a list of sponsors who've helped us out with the event, including Anderton Bosonnet Estate Agents and SunVit-D3 Vitamin.
"And Zoie Carter Ingham, who is the official photographer for Giants Live professional strongman competition and the TV show, and who came to Absolute Savage at the end of 2019, is joining us for Ultimate Unit too."
On the day, which begins at 10am, there will be five challenging strongman events, with men's and women's categories, as well as events for first-timers, novices and intermediates.

Mr Fish said everyone is welcome and spectators are asked to provide a donation of £1.
He added: "Bring the family for a great day out, food, drink and entertainment for all."
