A TEENAGE soap star packed on the PDA with his model girlfriend while celebrating her 18th birthday.
Coronation Street's Alex Bain, from Blackburn, who plays troubled teenager Simon Barlow on the much-loved soap, took to his Instagram stories and shared footage of a lively looking Guild Nightclub in Chester on Saturday evening (August 21).
The 19-year-old star captioned the video 'Mollie's 18th' alongside a love heart emoji, referring to his girlfriend, Mollie Lockwood, as the couple celebrated the milestone date with friends.
Bain cut a relaxed figure as he shared a passionate kiss with Lockwood, who he has been in a relationship with since October 2019, before turning back to the camera looking delighted.
He became a father at the age of 17 by ex-girlfriend, Levi Selby, in 2018.
Alex has starred in Coronation Street for 13 years and is known for his role as the troubled teen son of alcoholic Peter Barlow and the grandson of Ken Barlow.
The show’s producers have entrusted Alex with many challenging and hard-hitting story lines over the years, including when the rogue teen became abusive towards his step-mum Leanne Battersby shortly after she adopted him.
Most recently, he received praise for his portrayal of Simon during a storyline that saw him embroiled in an evil drug gang.
Drug lord Harvey, played by Will Mellor, targeted Simon and his mother, Leanne, after the pair got mixed up in a drugs scandal following the loss of baby Oliver to mitochondrial disease.
In 2010, Alex won a prestigious accolade when he was awarded Best Young Performance at the British Soap Awards.
Off-screen, he has spoken out about being the subject of vile trolling online after becoming a teenage dad. Aged 17, he became a father to Lydia-Rose.
Their daughter arrived shortly after they had both sat their GCSEs at Walton-le-Dale High School. He split from Levi in May 2019.
Before finding fame, he appeared in dance shows with the Blackburn’s Bernese School of Theatre and Dance at Thwaites Empire Theatre.
