The final bank holiday weekend of the year is just around the corner and you really shouldn’t waste it.

Luckily for you, many Lancashire businesses and venues are getting ready to celebrate the weekend in style by planning events.

We have tracked down some of the more exciting activities and events taking place across the county so you can start making your bank holiday plans in advance.

1. Ska Fest
Where:
St Mary's Chambers, Rawtenstall
When: Sunday, August 29

Cost: £16.50 per ticket
Description:
St Mary’s Chambers in Rawtenstall will host the event next weekend which will celebrate the best in Ska and reggae.

The four-band line-up will be headlined by Stockport-based seven-piece Special Brew with support from leading reggae outfit Jeramiah Ferrari; Accrington-based Inciders and Blank Cheque from Manchester.

The festival begins at 3pm and DJs will play in between the band performances

2. FYA Festival
Where:
Moss Edge Farm, Cockerham
When:  Friday 27th August 2021 - 12pm Monday 30th August.
Cost: £15-£55
Description:
FYA festival is a micro-festival, with street food, vendors, local producers and over 45 acts over the three-day bank holiday.

On site camping is available as well as campervan tickets.

3. Wonderhall Festival
Where:
Lytham Hall
When:   25th August 2021 - Monday 30th August.
Cost: £43-£199 (Ticketmaster prices)
Description:  
Get ready for WonderHall – a brand new six-day live music festival coming to Lancashire’s stunning coast this summer.

More than 30 artists will perform across the six-day festival taking place in the grounds of historic Lytham Hall.

Tom Jones, Anne-Marie, Russell Watson, Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell & Astro and Marc Almond will all headline WonderHall.

4. Restricted Rocks
Where:
Witton Country Park, Blackburn
When:   28th August 2021 - 29th August.
Cost: Child- £3.50, adult- £5
Description:  
 Restricted Rocks will be offering 2 days of a fun packed family festival. Expect chorus chanting and crowd surfing mayhem- and plenty of tribute acts.


5. Sound on the Ground
Where:
Sound on the Ground@Blackpool Cricket Club, Stanley Park, West Park Drive, Blackpool
When:   28th August - Sunday 29 August
Cost: From £36.40
Description:  
 The 2-day music extravaganza opens with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra in a 'Last Night of the Proms' style concert performing iconic soundtracks and memorable Music from the Movies with film snippets featured on two big screens.

In addition, Britain’s Got Talent winners Collabro will be performing together with the ‘Classical Crossover’ & ‘Synth-Pop’ string quartet girl band, Bond.

Following the sophistication of Saturday’s concert, the iconic sound of the 90’s Manchester music scene.

6. Crafty Vintage: Family festival

Where: Hoghton Tower, Preston
When:   28th August - 29 August
Cost: £3.50- £5.50
Description:  
 A fabulous three-day event that will lift your spirits and give you an enjoyable, safe environment, to shop and treat yourself from the vast array of vintage, collectibles, art and crafts that have been lovingly brought to you from small independent local businesses.

7. Flying Scotsman ride
Where:
Bury Bolton Street Station to Rawtenstall
When:    Sunday 29 August , Monday 30 August , Friday 3 September, Saturday 4 September and Sunday 5 September

Description:  
On five special days at the end of August and the start of September, the legendary Flying Scotsman will be paying a very special visit to the East Lancashire Railway, a highlight in our calendar of steam train events.

Book your tickets in advance for a one time return journey between Bury and Rawtenstall so you can tell all your friends and family that you’ve been on a train pulled by the most famous steam engine in the world.

8. Gin and Food Festival

Featuring Reece Oliver & The Showboat showgirls, Guest DJ's, Live Sax and Bongos and a After party in the Wine bar

Join us from 1pm! Our outside bar and cocktail bar will be ready and waiting to serve up drinks throughout the event!

9. Scorton Hall Fair
Where:
Scorton Village Hall, Factory Brow, Scorton
When:  29 August  
Cost: Free
Description:  
SEED Lancashire will be hosting a Charity Fundraiser through an afternoon tea event.

The day will include stalls from small businesses and opportunity to buy tea and cake that has generously been donated.

10. Colne & Nelson Bank Holiday Musical Bash
Where: Colne & Nelson Rugby Club
When:  27 August- 29 August

Colne & Nelson Rugby Club are proud to announce that this August Bank Holiday Weekend we are holding a club based Bank Holiday Musical Bash.

We have arranged a number of Bands to perform over the weekend at the club and for those people who are used to visiting the club over the Bank Holiday we will be accommodating campers at the club.
