A WOMAN who attacked a pub landlord got a caution but ended up in court after not paying compensation.
Burnley magistrates heard Rachel Elizabeth Gill, 35, abused Gavin Payton at the Shepherds Arms, Colne and then hit him in the mouth.
Gill had earlier been given a conditional caution but did not stick to the compensation agreement.
The defendant, of William Street, Colne, admitted assault by beating. She was given a 12-month conditional discharge and must pay Mr Payton £75.
Barbara Webster, prosecuting, said Gill was asked to leave the pub and became aggressive and abusive.
John Nuttall, defending, said Gill had recently been in hospital on the psychiatric ward.
He added: "She was not in a position to be able to pay £75 within 14 days and so had little option but to admit the offence."
