A BURNLEY man has been given a suspended prison sentence after carrying offensive weapons in public.
Oliver William McNeil, of Lowerhouse Lane, was caught 'equipped for theft' by North Yorkshire Police in Threshfield on August 17, 2020.
Harrogate magistrates' court heard how McNeil, 29, had been in possession of a crowbar and a knife in a public place.
McNeil pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him in January but was found guilty in July.
He was sentenced to 26 weeks imprisonment, suspended for two years due to an existing medical condition, during which time he will attend supervised rehabilitation sessions.
The weapons in McNeil's possession have been destroyed.
