ONE of East Lancashire’s most historic homes is to open up its gardens for charity this weekend.
Visitors will get the chance to explore the gardens at Great Mitton Hall which dates to the 14th Century and raise money for three charities in the process.
This will be the ninth open garden event held by owners Jean and Ken Kay - lockdown restrictions meant that last year’s event could not go ahead.
The gardens offers stunning views to the river and Ribble Valley which can be enjoyed with a cup of tea, coffee and a slice of cake!
There will be information regarding the history of the house, collectables, a tombola and various plant stalls.
The gardens will be open from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, admission is £5 per adult, children are free.
The three charities to benefit are Combat Stress, Walking With the Wounded and the Brooke Hospital.
