Graphic images shared by the fire service show the aftermath of a crash which caused delays and tailbacks on a busy motorway this morning.
At around 7am, fire crews were called to the M6 southbound between junctions 19 and 18 after receiving reports of a two-vehicle crash.
The incident involved an HGV and a car, with images showing the impact the crash had on one of the vehicles.
Fire crews used cutting equipment to remove the doors of the car so they could free the people trapped inside.
Luckily, all four people involved espacped with minor injuries.
A spokesperson for Knutsford fire station said: "Five fire engines, police and ambulance attended the scene.
"The four casualties involved escaped with minor injuries and three of them were taken to hospital for further treatment."
All lanes were shut for a short period of time which caused delays and a backlog of traffic.
However, according to Highways officers, due to barrier repairs needing to be carried out, there are still long delays of more than 60 minutes on the M6 southbound between junction 20a and junction 18.
