You might think that every McDonald’s branch is exactly the same- but Google reviewers would beg to differ.

Some people may have even tracked down their favourite restaurants in East Lancashire to dine at on a Friday night or after a night out.

Using Google reviews, we have tracked down East Lancashire’s McDonald’s branches to see which ones have the highest (and lowest) customer ratings.

We’ve also included some comments left by the reviewers.

McDonald’s Clitheroe
Address: Holm Road, Ribble Valley Enterprise, Park, Barrow, Clitheroe 
Rating: 4.2 based on 128 Google reviews

According to Google reviews, this is the highest-rated in East Lancashire (but it does have a lot less reviews than some of the others!)

Cath Mehta has mixed opinions on the branch.

She wrote: “Sometimes great, sometimes not as great. Last week fries were soggy and my wrap very dry.”

Another impressed customer wrote: “I ended up with someone else's order took it back my order was waiting for me, I kept both breakfasts.

“Great customer service thanks, and great coffee- not bitter like Costa’s.”

One person said: “Fresh good food, nice and hot unlike some of McDonald’s restaurants.”

McDonald’s Burnley- Burnham Gate

Parveen wrote: “Normally I don't give places like this reviews....but the burger was the best I’ve ever had- more so was the service from the young girl who served us.”

John Mackey said: “Good clear speakers on drive through.

“Quick service to pay station / collection point. Always hot food though had like warm fries on odd occasion.

“Hot apple pie stuffed on a Mcflurry- just got to do it.”

McDonald’s Haslingden- Rising Bridge

This branch has proven to be popular with locals.

One reviewer wrote: “Nice Micky D's [sic]. Been there many times and the food is good. The staff are nice and cheerful and it's usually a speedy service.”

Another commented on how the manager went above and beyond to help customers.

They said: “I would like to thank the manager of this McDonald's. I work with vulnerable adults and someone I support love arts and crafts they saw the red / pink bin bags used for the bins at this store and expressed how they wanted to pink bin liner to make a dress.

“After searching online I could not find any which I could collect for today. I rang the store and spoke to Phil and asked if there was a possibility of having a pink bin bag, Phil was happy enough to give me on, on arriving the staff handed me a handful of bags Phil had put to one side.”

However, one of the most recent reviews read: “This was once the best McDonalds around BUT unfortunately now it’s a terrible place.

“Make sure you check your food before you take away as 2/5 times it’s missing an item.”

McDonald’s Whitebirk

A happy customer wrote: “Best McDonald’s in Blackburn! Always have what you want, always have milkshakes and ice creams unlike the junction 4 m65 and #ewood one!

“Always fast and great service- I’m always there!”

One person said: “Nice place but limited parking spaces and you risk life and limb trying to get in the left lane off junction 6 AKA the ‘racetrack’.”

Rick Jones wasn’t as impressed, writing: “Average at best avoid the eggs muffins unless you like a thick crispy bottom on your egg and soggy muffin.”

McDonald’s Burnley- St James Street

One of the newest reviews read: “Quick, prompt service and friendly staff. What more do you need from McDonald’s. I had to ask a few times for sugar though.”

Another said: “I will give five stars any time. Great location, always clean and staff friendly and helpful. Also plenty of seating… I will be back.”

McDonald’s Rawtenstall

Rating: 3.8 based on 1,262 Google Reviews

One customer said: “This is one of the better McDonald’s, with mainly fresh food, rather than limp fries, short measured hot drinks and thrown together burgers.”

Another wrote: “Amazing place to go if you looking for somewhere to eat.

“The place is clean, staff are amazing, outdoor seating is comfortable and so is indoor seating, there is a play area for kids to socialize and have fun after they have eaten or before they have eaten.”

McDonald’s Blackburn
Address: King William St, Ewood
Rating: 3.7 based on 857 Google Reviews

A happy customer commented: “Prompt service and was very clean. Food was great.”

Another said: “Great to dine in after a while. Nice staff, apologised for missing out one of our orders and promptly got it for us.”

“Great McDonald's,” commented one person. “Only complaint the service, at least recently has been quite slow and there aren't too many tables to sit at.

“But otherwise it’s great, the quality of the food is always good and you never get the portion of chips that taste awful sometimes like at other McDonalds.”

McDonald’s Accrington

Rating: 3.7 based on 847 Google reviews

One person wrote: “Always clean and good quick service. Been going there for a few years now.”

Kerry said: “Quick and easy through the drive through. Need more bins as only one very overflowing bin in the car park.”

However, some of the reviews do complain about cold food.

McDonald’s- Blackburn with Darwen services

Mark Keating wrote: “Gave this Maccy D's 4 stars because the staff were very helpful and friendly.

“The table service was fast and the food seemed very freshly prepared (sometimes fries can be soft as they have been stacked up well in advance but not here).”

Another said: “The customer service was excellent. The staff are making sure customers are adhering to the social distancing guidelines. Would visit again.”

McDonald’s Burnley-Asda

Debbie Glover was very impressed with this McDonald’s branch.

She wrote: “I am not one for fast food restaurants but my granddaughter wanted to go. It was absolutely incredibly brilliant.

“The staff were very professional, helpful and polite. The service was better than our visit to a "proper" restaurant on 26th July.

“The staff were constantly adhering to and making sure everyone who visited, adhered to their Covid protocols.

“All I can say is, a massive well done to you all. You have left a very positive impression.”

Another wrote: “Good size for a drive thru, so even though we went at a peak time, traffic management wasn't an issue.”

A third said: “Definitely the best McDonald's around Burnley.”

McDonald’s Colne

One customer wrote: “A well-run, clean and efficient McDonald's.

“The staff here are super hardworking and very polite.

“The food is as McDonald's food should be. The drive thru is very efficiently run. The carpark has plenty of space to park cars. Would definitely recommend 10/10.”

Another said: “It’s my mums favourite place to go with my younger siblings.

“It’s quick and efficient and the staff are friendly. Whenever she's had an issue they've dealt with it swiftly.”

McDonald’s Ewood

Rating: 3.6 based on 1,210 Google reviews

Many reviewers have problem with the site location and traffic.

One reviewer said: “No issues with the restaurant but access is awful now as site and delivery service seem to have out grown car park.

“Little or no parking spaces that aren't being used by Uber or Just Eat assuming you can get past drive through queue.”

Another wrote: “Situated off a busy roundabout on shared retail park so usually congested and very busy throughput. Typical McDonalds food standard and quality.”

Dan Barker said: “What do you expect for McDonald's? Never really have to wait for too long and not had an order wrong yet.”
