PENDLE Council are calling on the borough's residents to recycle their old Christmas trees.
The council are collecting their unwanted, real Christmas trees from now until Friday, January 18.
The trees will be collected along with normal recycling free of charge.
Bryan Thompson, funded and special projects manager, said: "You will be able to leave your unwanted Christmas trees out by your normal recycling box or your garden waste bin and it will be collected and recycled by the council free of charge.
All we ask is that you leave it standing upright and remove all the decorations."
Councillor John David, responsible for the environment, added: "I urge everyone who has an unwanted Christmas tree to recycle it.
"I do remind people though that this service is for real Christmas trees only."
