A CORONATION STREET actress has celebrated her birthday at a relaxing Rossendale retreat.

Alexandra Mardell, who plays much-loved barmaid Emma Brooker on the famous soap, swapped the cobbles for the countryside as she enjoyed some rest and relaxation on her 28th birthday.

Sharing a couple of snaps with her fans on Instagram, Alexandra popped the bubbly and shared a sizzling bikini-clad jacuzzi shot from her stay at Rossendale Holiday Cottages.

"Prune fingers pending," wrote the star as followers were quick to comment with birthday wishes and remark on her "sensational" snaps.

Sally Carman, who plays Abi Franklin on the show, commented "insane", while former Hollyoaks actress Hollie-Jay Bowes simply said "body" alongside a fire emoji.

Rossendale Holiday Cottages is no stranger to celebrity visitors, as last year Hollywood musician and model Nick Jonas - who has 31 million Instagram followers - was spotted posing for a photoshoot on the site.

The shoot was for the February edition of French luxury magazine, L'Official Hommes, with Jonas swapping his usual Beverly Hills glamour to spend time alongside some of Lancashire's donkeys and cows.
