A MAN who had a knife whilst subject to a suspended jail term has walked free from court.
Burnley Crown Court heard John Brown used the knife for fishing, it was closed and he did not brandish it. He had a similar previous conviction from 2004.
Brown, of Elm Street, Nelson, had admitted possessing a bladed article and had been committed for sentence by Burnley Magistrates.
He was given a four-month curfew, between 10pm and 6am.
Judge Pamela Badley warned him: "You have been in possession of a blade in the past.
"You won't get a third opportunity for a non custodial sentence."
