A 25-YEAR-OLD man who threatened to petrol bomb the home of his ex-partner's parents if police didn't get there before him has been jailed.
Blackburn magistrates heard the recording of Mark Leggat's 999 call to police, which amounted to a foul and abusive rant at the operator.
He then went round to the home of his former partner and began kicking the front door.
Leggat, of Beardsworth Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to damaging the door at the home of Joanne Batty, in Whalley New Road, and using threatening and abusive behaviour towards the police communications operator. He was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison.
Charlotte Crane, prosecuting, said Leggat had been demanding that police remove his children from the house in Lilac Road, but they were not there.
Police went to that address to warn Miss Batty's parents, and shortly after received a call from her to say Leggat was outside her house kicking at the door.
She said Leggat had only been released from prison four weeks before the offence, after serving a sentence for making threats to kill Joanne Batty.
Pam Baldwin, defending, said Leggat was becoming frustrated by the lack of contact with the children and had been drinking heavily on the night of the incident.
