The Government's "Connect to your Council" initiative has conducted a "Pride of Place" poll where people have been encouraged to vote for their local "top spot" to show a tourist or visitor. In Rossendale, Haslingden's Panopticon "Halo" emerged as winner with 35% of the vote. Read on for the other results.
Other contenders were; East Lancashire Railway 29%, Healy Dell Nature Reserve 14%, Fitzpatricks Temperance Bar 5%, Weavers Cottage 4%, Helmshore Textile Museum 3%, Whitworth Water Ski & Recreation Centre 3%, Ski Rossendale 3%, Rossendale Way 2%, Rossendale Museum 2%.
