AN East Lancashire doctor faces being struck off after being accused of working for two hospital trusts at the same time.
It is alleged that Dr Noor Ahmed-Ebbiary took holidays from working at the former Queen's Park Hospital, Blackburn, to see patients at another, unnamed hospital elsewhere in the country.
The obstetrics and gynaecology consultant will appear before a General Medical council fitness to practice panel in Manchester on Monday.
He is accused of taking on the second job in 2005, but failing to tell either East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust or the trust in charge of the second hospital about his other work.
Many doctors take on work with two different trusts, or hold a private practice alongside their NHS work, but Dr Ahmed-Ebbiary was investigated for dishonesty in allegedly failing to tell anyone about his actions and taking annual leave from one trust to work for another.
The doctor is also accused of refusing to properly co-operate with disciplinary hearings.
His registration to practise was suspended for 18 months at an interim General Medical Council hearing in June, and on Monday the panel will decide whether his fitness to practice has been impaired.
If he is judged to be unfit, he could face being struck off, being suspended for a fixed period or returning to work with conditions attached to his employment.
Gary Graham, Deputy Chief Executive at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, said: "We can confirm that Dr Nour Ahmed-Ebiarry has worked at the trust as a consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology, and is no longer employed by us.
"We can not comment on the circumstances of the case as it is an ongoing General Medical Council matter."
