Circus Extreme

Peel 7 car park, The Trafford Centre

Until Sunday, July 18

ROLL up, roll up… the circus is back – and what a show it is.

After so many months without live entertainment, it really feels like the team behind Circus Extreme has gone the extra mile to put on a show to entertain fans of all ages.

It was my little boy’s first visit to a circus and, at three years old, he watched in amazement as the insanely talented performers backflipped and swung around the big top.

The show got off to a hair-raising start with Duo Vanegas on the wheel of death. The pair from Columbia, who are debuting in the UK, will have you on the edge of your seat.

Aerial duo Polischuk dazzle with their mid-air stunts before holding each other by their TEETH, high in the big top’s roof.

There seemed to be a technical issue with the aerial hoop act – where a piece of equipment didn’t descend from the roof as it should - but the team swiftly moved to the next section of the show.

And that’s part of the charm of anything you watch live, there’s always the potential for things to go slightly awry - although thankfully not when the performer was suspended from the rafters

The finale which sees the extreme stunt riding team performing the Globe of Death is a real showstopper.

Throw in a tightrope walker with some Las Vegas showgirl glamour and Henry the Prince of Clowns - who I promise is not at all creepy - and there’s all the elements for a great family show.

Lancashire Telegraph:

It was lovely to see families out enjoying themselves in the arena, with enough people to bring about a nice atmosphere but no issues around Covid rules.

Circus Extreme has recently been filmed for Amazon Prime series, The Real Greatest Showmen. But you can see the stars in real life, in the circus big top outside the Trafford Centre, until July 18. All details here.
