THE Samaritans are looking for volunteers with a couple of hours to spare who are looking to put something back into the community.
Members of Pendle, Craven, Burnley and Rossendale Samaritans are holding a Discovery Event' at the centre in Market Square, Nelson, for those wanting to find out more about what it's like being a Samaritan without committing themselves.
The only qualifications needed to volunteer for the charity, which offers people a confidential listening service in a bid to alleviate despair and suicidal feelings, are an ability to listen and two or three spare hours a week.
