A man who sneaked into a woman’s house and attempted to rape her a number of times has been jailed.
At around 6.45pm on December 5 last year, Aiden Moore entered his victim's house in Lancaster while she waited for her dog to come in from the garden.
He grabbed hold of her and threw her into the shower, telling the woman, who is in her 60s, that he loved her.
While forcing himself on her, and boasting about how expensive a Canada Goose jacket he was wearing was, she pleaded with him not to hurt her.
Moore later forced the woman into the living room where he attempted to rape her multiple times.
The victim again pleaded with Moore not to hurt her, before the 23-year-old left the scene, leaving behind his mobile phone and underwear.
Moore was arrested a short time later, based on the description the victim had given - including the poor state of his teeth - and he was still in possession of the Canada Goose jacket.
Moore, of Morley Road Lancaster, pleaded guilty to attempted rape, sexual assault and trespassing.
At Preston Crown Court on Tuesday, Moore was sentenced to 11 years in custody, with a five-year extended licence period, after he was deemed to be a dangerous offender.
He must also sign the Sex Offender’s Register for life.
DC Rachel Crossley, of West CID, said: “This was an extremely distressing incident for the victim and I would like to praise her for the bravery she has displayed throughout the case.
"Hopefully, the significant sentence imposed on Moore will give her some peace of mind.
"Even after Moore is eventually released from prison he will continue to be monitored.
“I would also like to praise the professionalism of my colleagues at Lancashire Police and those at the Crown Prosecution Service for enabling us to get this significant sentence and protect the public from this dangerous sexual predator.
"I hope this case will give other victims of sexual offending the confidence to come forward, knowing that we will listen to them and act on the information they provide.”
