INTERNAL renovations have officially commenced on the highly-anticipated Three Fishes pub ahead of its October opening date.
Some serious internal renovations started last week.
Michelin-star chef, Nigel Haworth, posted the update about the Mitton pub to Facebook.
He said the interiors have been stripped and started to be renovated.
In the post he wrote: “Work has begun to completely renovate the inside of The Three Fishes.
“From panelling being taken down from the walls to the kitchen being completely removed, it's been busy!”
Nigel has also used his time to consider the pub’s garden.
Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, he said they are also going to serve "ingredient led farm to fork food” with a great focus on sustainability and sourcing local food- including those which are grown right outside.
In his initial plans, he hoped the pubs garden would contain an orchard as well as chickens, lambs and bees.
Now, he is considering the science behind his soil to ensure a garden forest and herb garden can thrive.

In his most recent Facebook post, Nigel wrote: “Taking a step away from the internal renovations meant yesterday I had the chance to have a meeting outside to discuss my visions for the gardens.
"We've got to get the basics right if we want a successful garden forest and herb garden, so looking in to the science behind our soil and permaculture as a whole, is something I was keen to learn more about.
“Where we're sat in this picture is where we will grow produce as sustainability and my farm to fork ethos runs through the veins of this project.”
