A TIMETABLE has been drawn up for talks on how a primary school places crisis can be averted in Nelson.
Education chiefs have warned the number of places for children starting school in the Pendle town could run out within the next two years.
Now county and borough councillors are being asked to agree upon an informal consultation exercise, staged for parents, teachers, governors, and education experts, during the forthcoming spring term.
Lancashire County Council is looking at the prospect of building a new primary school.
The outcome of the consultation will be reported to Coun Valli Patel, Lancashire cabinet member for education.
But it could be April 2009 before a final decision is reached.
