JUNIOR and senior medics from across the Burnley area are celebrating their contribution to making the borough a safer place.
More than 20 dedicated recruits, from badger rank, aged five to 10, to adult level, shared the honours at the St John Ambulance ceremony.
Badger of the year was Joey Kirtham-MacCallum, while the prizes for best-dressed male and female badgers went to Cameron Mahmood and Caitlin Eddy .
The best attendance award for the youngsters went to Ethan Andrew and the most-improved distinction was picked up by Emma Foxwell.
Meanwhile in the cadets section, for ambulance trainees aged 10 to 18, Roxanne James took the top prize.
Best-dressed cadets were Ben Neald and Natalie Hosker and the attendance honours went to Jonathan Taylor, who also picked up the best duty honours award.
Support and dedication honours went to Laura Beardsworth, Hemlata Tripathi and Tyron Healy.
The most improved cadet for 2007 was Matthew Smith.
Karen Lonsdale was adult of the year and Dorothy Hodgson took the best duty hours award. The attendance proze went to Timothy James and support and dedication awardss were given to Joan Carpenter, Roy Carpenter, Stuart Taylor, Rachel Andrew and Robert Riley.
