MOTORISTS are being warned to prepare for difficult driving conditions as snow and freezing temperatures are forecast for Lancashire.
The Met Office said that there is expected to be widespread snowfall today that will spread northwards across England and Eastern Wales.
It is forecast to reach Lancashire tomorrow.
Road users are advised to be prepared with warm clothing and an emergency pack, which includes food and water, boots, de−icer, a torch, and a shovel in case of snow.
The Highways Agency, which is responsible for England's motorways and major A roads, has its winter fleet on stand−by to treat the roads whenever freezing temperatures and snow are forecast.
Drivers are advised to check the forecast and road conditions, to leave extra time for their journeys if travel conditions are poor, and to delay their journey if the weather becomes severe.
