Darwen Local History Society present an evening with ex professional linesman & referee Steve Williams who will be talking on the history of Blackburn Rovers FC from 1875 to 1990.
Steve was a referee for 29 years and professional linesman for 12 years. He was a referee at 16, making him one of the youngest to achieve his referee's licence.
Although now no longer involved in football, his passion for the sport & local history is incorporated in his many talks on the local teams and his memories as a ref & linesman.
Kick off.... is at 7.15 21st January 2008, at Bridge Street Sport & Social Club (Former ICI club) The Ballroom, Bridge Street, Darwen.
