POLICE called to a "domestic" row found an 18-year-old locked in his bedroom after his father threatened him, Burnley magistrates heard.
The court was told how "drunken" Stephen Hargreaves, 50, had accused his son Gareth of being lazy, and the defendant's wife had told her son to shut himself in his room while she called police.
Hargreaves, of Moore Street, Colne, admitted breaching the peace and was bound over in the sum of £100 for six months.
Sophie Lorimer, prosecuting, said Hargreaves was said to have told his son he did nothing but play on the computer all day.
Gareth would say his father was unsteady on his feet, the teenager feared he would fall into him and had stood up.
The defendant had taken this as a challenge, had threatened to assault his son and had swung a punch. Gareth ducked and it missed.
Hargreaves, who ended up being arrested, had a record, but nothing since 2003.
