DETECTIVES have issued a fresh appeal for help over the mugging of a six-year-old in broad daylight in Burleigh Street, Burnley.
Police believe the public can still help to catch the man responsible for the terrifying lunchtime attack on Hamza Ahmed on November 13.
Hamza was confronted by a skinny man, who demanded money from him, as he walked home from Stoneyholme Primary School, Oswald Street, to nearby Castle Street.
When he insisted he had no money, the man ordered him to take his shoes and socks off and kicked him in the leg before fleeing.
His mother, Shahida Begum, 28, said the boy had been left frightened by the incident.
An investigation led to the arrest in December of a 21-year-old Burnley man, on suspicion of attempted robbery.
But DC Neil Marr, of Burnley CID, said that the suspect had been released from bail and inquiries were continuing.
Police say that the man had a spotty face and was wearing a grey jumper and navy tracksuit bottoms.
