POLICE called to a bus station in the middle of the afternoon found a drunken man abusing the public.
Burnley magistrates heard how Christopher Costello, 44, was waving his arms about and upsetting people.
Costello, of Walton Street, Colne, admitted being drunk and disorderly on December 28 in Craddock Road, Colne.
The defendant, who had spent two-and-a-half days in custody, was given a 12-month conditional discharge.
Sophie Lorimer, prosecuting, said when officers arrived a man with the child and an elderly woman appeared distressed by his behaviour.
Costello was shouting, swearing and issuing threats, the court heard.
David Lawson, defending, said Costello, who had been released from prison three weeks before, had been to the Job Centre, but had been told he would not be getting any income for the foreseeable future.
