SUPERMARKETS are urgently recalling contact lens solution over a chemical fault.
Tesco and Asda have issued statements recalling certain contact lens solutions sold in their stores.
Customers who have purchased the item are asked to return it to their nearest store. A product recall is issued when there is a discovery made about a certain product that is deemed unsafe to the consumer.
The recall was issued on Tesco’s website as well as a statement issued by Trading Standards UK. Trading Standards UK said: “Bausch + Lomb have identified a potential fault affecting all batch codes of EasySept Hydro + 360ml products. Residual peroxide could potentially remain in the lens case after neutralisation. If the residual hydrogen peroxide is above product specification, the user could experience burning/stinging, irritation, red eye and in rare circumstances other more serious health consequences."
