A TALENTED nail and eyelash technician has gone viral on social media — thanks to her quirky nail art design videos.
Jess Swinburne from Colne is a nail and lash artist working in Blackburn and Burnley.
After finding herself bored in coronavirus lockdown, the 20-year-old started her own channel on TikTok, an app that allows users to create and share 15-second videos.
One of her early posts racked up more than eight million views, with many now in the millions.
Miss Swinburne has 188,000 followers on the social media platform, where she posts videos of her painting nails with voiceovers from other videos.
She said: “At the beginning I posted a video, but nothing came of it then.
“I did another one with pink swirls that I hated but my boyfriend said I should still post it and when I woke up the next morning, I had 10,000 views and I was like ‘oh my god’."
Before she knew it, the video views started going up into the hundred thousands and then millions.
One of her designs is taken from an audio-clip of influencer Molly-Mae Hague telling boxer boyfriend Tommy Fury off for throwing a baby doll in the air when the pair were on Love Island.
She said: “I was just sitting on my bed one day, thinking what I could do that nobody else is doing. My boyfriend and I always laugh and say Molly-Mae Hague’s funny line and I just thought I should put it on a nail.”
The video sees Miss Swinburne writing the words being said by Molly-Mae onto long nail extensions.
In five days, Miss Swinburne went from 400 followers to 100,000.

She said: “A lot of people think it’s fun to watch and new nail artists just starting out will message me for advice as well."
One of the other quirky things about Miss Swinburne’s videos is that she uses voiceover stories of other TikTok users on her videos instead of just music.
In one video she uses words of a woman losing the money given to her in her grandma’s will due to her parents giving it to her sister.
Miss Swinburne said: “The voiceover stories help because rather than just watch me doing the nails, people listen to some of my favourite stories on the site.
“It can get boring listening to music sometimes, so this keeps it interesting.
“My nail art is never simple, I try new things all the time.”
The nail tech studied beauty and now freelances at Charli and the beauty factory in Richmond Terrace, Blackburn.
