Police have dismantled two cannabis farms in Blackburn uncovering more than 150 plants.
On Wednesday officers from Blackburn Neighbourhood Policing Team attended two properties after receiving concerned reports from members of the public.
Police were sent to a property on Young Street in Mill Hill after it was reported that the house was insecure and the door was open.
On entering the property officers came across a cannabis set-up with almost 100 plants that were in the last stages of growth and which police say would have ended up on the streets to be sold in a very short period of time.
PCSO Andy Shuttleworth said: "Unfortunately, the occupant has failed to return whilst officers were removing the plants and we will be conducting further enquiries to speak to the people who reside there."
At the second property, engineers from EON contacted the police as they had been to a house on Saunders Road to make the electrics safe.
Again on entering the property there was a cannabis set-up with more than 50 plants in various stages of growth.
PCSO Shuttleworth added: "This was yet another unsafe set up and the electrics had been bypassed and left neighbouring properties at risk from these meters being bypassed."
