CONGRATULATIONS to Maureen and Thomas Fisher who are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary today.

The couple, who met in the Gardener's pub in Whalley Range on Christmas Eve in 1970 said they are 'still in love' after all of these years.

Maureen, 71 and Thomas, 73, married on June 5 in 1971.

They went on to have six children, Jamie, Amanda, Lindsay, Daniel, Lisa-Marie and Stuart, as well as five grandchildren Alexander, Olivia, Jacob, Darcy-Marie and Isabella.

Maureen said that the secret to a long marriage is 'to love one another unconditionally'.
