ALL eligible adults will be able to get a Covid-19 vaccine in Rossendale this weekend.

A temporary pop-up facility on Town Centre Square, Rawtenstall on Saturday and Salem Street car park, Haslingden on Tuesday will offer a first dose of the Pfizer vaccine to all over-18s who meet the eligibility criteria.

People unsure if they meet the criteria are advised to visit one of the vaccination sites and speak to a member of staff and are asked to 'not assume you and your wider family aren't eligible without speaking to us first'.

Jane Scattergood, vaccination director for Lancashire and South Cumbria, said: "These pop-up vaccination sites mean people have more opportunities to get their vaccination at a time and place that suits them. As long as you are eligible, please come forward.

"I also want to again say a huge thank you to all our staff and partners who are working hard on the delivery of the vaccination programme."

Neil Shaw, chief executive at Rossendale Council, said: "It’s great that people can turn up without an appointment and get vaccinated in Rossendale and we’d encourage people to come down and check they are eligible.

"We want to make sure that we’re doing as much as possible in Rossendale to control the virus and by making vaccination sites such as these available as well as increased testing will help us achieve that."

Walk-in jabs are available at the following sites:

  • Town Centre Square, Rawtenstall - Saturday 5 June - 10am to 4pm
  • Salem Street car park, Haslingden - Tuesday 8 June - 10am to 4pm
