BRITS were treated to an extra bank holiday in May and many spent their extra day enjoying the rare sunshine.

However, now that bank holiday is behind us people in the UK will be eager for the next one- but when exactly is it?

We have compiled a list of the remaining bank holidays in 2021 so you can start planning your next long weekend.

When is the next bank holiday?

The next bank holiday for people in England will fall at the end of August (30 August).

In other parts of the UK, this date is slightly different.

Scotland and the Republic of Ireland take their break earlier in the month on  August 2, 2021.

Here is a full list of remaining bank holidays in England in 2021:

  • 30 August (Monday) – Summer bank holiday
  • 27 December (Monday) – Christmas Day (substitute day)
  • 28 December (Tuesday) – Boxing Day (substitute day)

The Queen’s Jubilee in 2022

We might not have many bank holidays remaining in 2021- but next year is set to  be a real treat with a once-in-a-lifetime four day bank holiday confirmed for the Queen’s Jubilee.

 

 

The May Bank Holiday weekend in 2022 will be moved to Thursday, June 2, and there will be an additional Bank Holiday on Friday, June 3.

Here is a full list of bank holiday dates scheduled for 2022:

  • January 3 - the Monday after New Year’s Day
  • April 15 - Good Friday
  • April 18- Easter Monday
  • May 2 - Early May bank holiday
  • June 2 - Spring bank holiday
  • June 3 - Platinum Jubilee bank holiday
  • August 29 - Summer bank holiday
  • 26 December- Boxing Day
  • 27 December- Christmas Day
